Regent's College, School of Psychotherapy & Counselling Psychology
The
School of Psychotherapy & Counselling Psychology (SPCP) is one of seven specialist schools at
Regent's College London - the largest provider of private higher education in the UK.
SPCP is a leading training school for psychotherapy, counselling and counselling psychology in the UK. We aim to develop professionals who think independently, are theoretically well informed and able to skilfully and ethically provide psychotherapy and counselling in a variety of professional settings.
Why SPCP?
- International reputation - SPCP has a reputation for innovation and the promotion of critical thinking in the field; members of its faculty are invited to speak throughout the world and the student body is drawn to the School's training programmes from across Europe, North America, Japan and Australia, as well as the UK.
-
Professional accreditation - as an accrediting body the School's courses lead to professional registration with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and eligibility to apply for individual accreditation with BACP.
-
Experienced faculty members - the School's permanent faculty possess a breadth and diversity of professional experience and have been at the forefront of developing innovative teaching modalities and programmes. We encourage academic rigour while honouring the experiential and interpersonal encounter and foster professional competence to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving field.
- A safe but challenging learning environment - class and group sizes are carefully limited according to the specific learning activity; we take care to provide a carefully structured human 'environment' to facilitate the personally challenging nature of the learning required of professional training in this field.
