Scotland's Saltire Scholarship (British Council)
The British Council will offer 8 postgraduate scholarship awards of £2,000 each. In order to be eligible to apply you must meet the following criteria:
You should:
- have an unconditional offer of a place at a Scottish university on an eligible course
- be a citizen of Canada, the People's Republic of China, India or the USA
- be able to demonstrate that you can meet the costs of living and remaining tuition fees
- complete an application form and submit it to your selected institution by the closing date
- not have completed an undergraduate course in Scotland.

Santander Scholarship Fund
Santander UniversitiesLast year Edinburgh Napier University joined the Santander Universities network. Through this partnership Santander is funding scholarships, mobility awards and projects at the University Santander Scholarship fund
Edinburgh Napier University has entered an agreement with the Santander Group to promote closer ties between Scotland and Iberamerica.
The Scholarship is broken down into the following categories to provide support for:
- The recruitment of postgraduate students from the 11 Iberamerican countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Venezuela, Spain and Portugal)
- Mobility grants for travel to and from Iberamerican countries
Scholarship Details, Allocation and Eligibility CriteriaStudents, staff or prospective students should apply for scholarships in their chosen area by completing the application form.
Applications for more than one scholarship are permitted, for example a post-graduate scholarship and a mobility scholarship.
Applications should be submitted by
15 June 2010 for the 2010 / 2011 academic year.
Edinburgh Napier University Hong Kong Open ScholarshipsThe recipient is awarded a scholarship worth up to £9,000 for each year of study at Edinburgh Napier University, for a maximum of 4 years. This scholarship is open to Hong Kong residents who have been accepted on to any full time Edinburgh Napier undergraduate degree course.

Ian Tomlin Malta Music Scholarship (2 available)Two scholarships are available per year for students from Malta, to cover full tuition fees for the duration of the degree at the Ian Tomlin School of Music at Edinburgh Napier University.
Garrick ScholarshipOne scholarship is available per year for international full time postgraduate students, to cover full tuition fees for the MA Screen Project Development or MA Screenwriting, or half fees on the MFA Film Practice at Edinburgh Napier University's Screen Academy Scotland.
In order to be considered for the Garrick Scholarship you must have applied and been accepted to one of the Screen Academy Scotland postgraduate courses. Find out more about the courses and how to apply on the

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships SchemeThe Shared Scholarship Scheme is a joint initiative between the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (with funding from DFID), and UK universities, to support scholarships for students from developing
Commonwealth countries who would not otherwise be able to study in the United Kingdom.
For 2010/11 Edinburgh Napier are offering one funded place for a student on
MSc Advanced Practice in Nursing.
Applicants should:Have an offer of a place to study on
MSc Advanced Practice in Nursing in 2010/11.
Be nationals of (or permanently domiciled in) a
Commonwealth developing country, and not currently be living or studying in a developed country for a list of eligible countries.
Have not previously studied for one year or more in a developed country.
Not be employed by a government department (at national level) or a parastatal organisation (employees of universities are normally acceptable, however).
Be able to confirm in writing that neither they or their families would otherwise be able to pay for the proposed course of study.
Be willing to confirm that they will return to their home country as soon as their period of study.
Application Procedure:All applications should be made via the Commonwealth Scholarship Commissions's
Electronic Application System (EAS) by 1 May 2010.

Accommodation
Edinburgh Napier University offers a range of self catered accommodation in the centre of the city. You can apply online for accommodation as soon as you have a firmly accepted unconditional offer. You will not be able to apply with a conditional offer. Provided you have applied before 23rd August 2010 and meet the eligibility criteria, we will guarantee you accommodation so please do not worry if your offer is currently conditional, just wait for your exam results then apply as soon as you have accepted your unconditional offer.
We have 197 self catering flats for 900 students in the city centre costing between £89 and £94 per week. You can see details of our flat developments here.
This year we have also secured an extra 99 spaces at iQ accommodation, these rooms are ensuite and are £113 per week. Students allocated iQ accommodation will sign an iQ tenancy which lasts for 42 weeks, this accommodation is managed by iQ and not by Edinburgh Napier University.
The following students are eligible to apply for University Accommodation:
- Students who have accepted an Unconditional offer to study at Edinburgh Napier University
- (Conditional offers cannot apply until their offer is made unconditional)
- Undergraduate students in their first year of study at Edinburgh Napier University
- Students staying for the full academic year
- Students who live out side Edinburgh and do not have an EH post code
We have limited spaces for Postgraduate students.
We welcome applications from care leavers even if you currently reside within the Edinburgh area and have a range of measures in place to support you.
