Orientation meetings
An introduction to Menzies Institute of Technology is commenced on the first day of student's course. This will occur at the beginning of a term or may occur on an individual basis.
Orientation program includes:
- Meet academic and administrative staff
- Introduction to policy and procedures, rules and regulations and facilities at Menzies Institute of Technology
- Explanation of the course outline and credential upon completion
- Advise on recognition of prior learning (RPL) exemptions and credits
- Attendance requirement
- Distribution and explanation of time table
- Assessment process and penalties for late work
- The relevant occupational health and safety procedures and equal opportunity provisions
- Introduction to living in Melbourne
- Receive a student handbook
- Open a bank account
- Obtain a tax file number
- Finalize subject selection and time table
- Obligations such as fees and charges, refund policy and directions for resolving complaints and grievance
