History

Newman University gained its full university status in 2013 and dates back to 1968 when it was formerly named Newman College of Higher Education. It is based in Bartley Green in Birmingham and is named after Cardinal Newman, the religious figure. Although the University is a Catholic institution, it does welcome students and staff from any religious backgrounds.
